The Wonderful World of the Whiteheads: Gig 'Em

The Chandler's invited us to go to the Texas A&M football game with them over Thanksgiving break. We were so excited because we had never been to an Aggie football game before. We started our adventure in the car. Ava and Bailey couldn't stop singing the countdown of minutes till we arrived. They were about to drive my dad crazy!!!

Our first stop in Aggieland was Ellis Field. To our surprise, the gate was left unlocked and we made our way onto the field! We had fun running around and seeing what the soccer field was like.

Our next stop was the Texas A&M Football field. We couldn't believe it, but the gate was also opened, and we just walked right on in.

We played like we were Aggie football players!

Ava was doing cheerleader jumps in the middle of the field.

I don't think she realized that Texas A & M doesn't have cheerleaders!

We decided to walk around campus and see what Aggieland is all about. We came across the football players workout room. We were all peeking through the windows, and a nice coach opened the door for us. He allowed us to walk around the gym. It was awesome! It was the nicest weight room I had ever seen!!!

It had to be our lucky day with all the places we were able to go into this day!!!!

There were rings everywhere at Texas A&M. We took pictures at them all I think!

We made a short stop at the Dixie Chicken to play a little pool, and let our parents rest their feet. It was really a neat place to see.

We then headed to the bonfire. It was the biggest bonfire I had ever seen!

Once the bonfire was lit, it got really hot quickly! It was pretty neat to see. We were going to go to yell practice at midnight, but we feel asleep. Mr. Bryan and Bailey are the only ones that made it!

The next morning, we woke up and played some parking lot football at the hotel.

Mom and Ava cheered us on from the balcony.

It was a beautiful day, and we were ready to experience some Aggie football.

Before the game, we stopped off at Aggieland Outfitters for some more apparel.

We were lucky again, and Jackie Sherill was signing footballs. Mom and Dad were nice enough to buy me one, so he could sign it. He was a nice guy. He took time out to take a picture with me and Ava.

Ava sure does make a pretty little Aggie girl!

We then walked from our hotel over to see the Bonfire Memorial.

Ava had to stop and pick flowers along the way!

We finally made it to the memorial, and it was a place I will never forget. It was such a great tribute to the lives lost.

We then decided to head further into campus. Ava and Bailey took a little break from walking!

We finally made our way to the stadium. We decided to wait for the spirit walk.

After a long wait, the band and football players finally made their walk to the stadium.

The crowd was going crazy! I thought to myself....what a way to start a game! Everyone was fired up.

We finally got to enter the stadium. We watched as the players warm up for the game. It was amazing!

By the time the game started, it had gotten cold. We all bundled up and was ready for some good football.

Mrs. Lori told Dad that the A&M band is the best band ever. After we watched them perform, Dad agreed!

The Aggies beat Missouri and won by a lot! It was a high scoring game with lots of action. I enjoyed all the yelling and whooping that the fans did. It was an amazing experience.

After the game, we got to play on the football field again. We brought a football this time, and we had a blast.
