I can't believe Evan turned 9 years old. Time has flown by! I wish I could freeze him and not let him get any bigger. I hope he enjoys his last year of the single digits!
We began his big day with crate papering the bedroom door, so he would have to bust out of his room on his birthday.
In the living room, we had his new bike waiting for him to see!
After sitting on the bike, Evan realized he didn't really like it. He was brave enough to tell us, so we could exchange it. Unfortunately, Evan had to go to school on his birthday. He did request for his dad to bring Sonic to him for lunch. He also celebrated in his classroom with thumbprint cookies and drinks.
After school, we went and exchanged his bike for a new one!
Evan wanted to go to his favorite restaurant for dinner, Texas Roadhouse! We invited all his grandparents to go with us. The wait staff sang Happy Birthday to him while he sat on a saddle and swung a white napkin in the air.
After dinner, everyone came back to our house to have some birthday brownies. Evan didn't want a cake. After dessert, Evan opened all his presents.
Ava loves Evan so much!!! She made a special card for him.
For Evan's friend party, he decided to have it at Athletes Sports Training. Before we left the house, Evan and Ava wanted to take a picture with Alley.
Evan wanted his cake to be all sports.
We had to take a picture of all the important men in Evan's life.
Evan started his party off with dodge ball. We even played kids vs. dads! I think the kids won. :0)
After several games, we decided to sing Happy Birthday to Evan and eat some cookie cake. Evan was so excited that all his friends could come to the party.
Next the kids played kick ball and baseball. All in all, they had a great time. Evan didn't want to even stop playing to open his presents.
When we got home, Evan opened all his presents from his friends. His nerf gun was one of his favorite gifts.
Evan did receive a very special card from his friend Corbin. It is something he will save and cherish forever.
Evan has brought so much joy to our lives. We are the luckiest parents in the world to have him in our lives. I know he will grow into a wonderful man one day! (Hopefully, time won't go by too fast!)
